Members of the True Buddha School Temples around the world are hosting various activities to mark the celebration of our Grand Master’s 80th birthday. The first activity was hosted by Master Lian Sheng from UK’s Zhen Du Lei Cang Zhi, he conducted the Golden Mother ceremony and dedicated the merits to our Grand Master, wishing him a happy and healthy birthday. On the other hand, Zhen Du Lotus charity Association also held a series of charitable activities in Vietnam to thank Grand Master for his years of teachings. According to Master's teachings, being more compassionate and joyful, generate bodhicitta, and give back to all living beings in need of help is very important. To put this into practice, President Lian Hua Zi Hui, Zhendu Council President Lian Hua Hon Shan, Lian Hua Ying Yin, Lian Hua Wan Yi visited Vietnam to prepare for a series of donations to support local orphanages. We would also take this opportunity to thank Andy a local friend who has purposely taken time to help us arrange the logistics and assisted with translations. Due to the post-epidemic and recession, donations dedicated to support local orphans has decrease dramatically, so this is a crucial moment for them and the right support can make a huge difference to the orphans. The first donation was made to a Vietnamese temple currently caring for 62 orphans, they were running low on rice and cooking ingredients, so we’ve prepared 70 bags of rice, cooking oil, sugar, salt and a gift bag for the children. The head monk was very grateful and the children felt surprised but very happy receiving small bags of sweets and stationeries. In return, the head monk arranged for the children to sing a happy birthday song to grand Master. The head monk also shared some of his previous experiences and the history of the temple with us. Many orphans were abandoned by their parents, they were placed in front of the temple without a note. Over the span of 30 years he has taken in more than 500 orphans and raised them like his own children, it is very heart warming to hear that they have all adopted the surname of the head monk. At the second temple, they wanted to build a new kitchen for the orphans, so we donated building materials such as bricks, sand, cement, along with some cooking ingredients and prepared some gift bags for the children. They were very excited and the smiles on their faces were unforgettable. This temple currently has 52 orphans and 18 volunteers, they are very fortunate to be adopted and cared for by kind-hearted people, so that they can grow up in a healthy environment. This is a rare fate. The monks and nuns in the temple clearly have a strong bodhicitta heart, their spirit of not abandoning any sentient being requires hard work and pure dedication, we give them our full respect for offering so much and not expecting anything back. Leading by example is often the simplest and the most direct form of encouragement to others, we hope this article can encourage the spread of warmth around the world. This donation event in Vietnam ended with a warm and unforgettable atmosphere. We hope that through these meaningful activities will continue to shine their light, illuminating the world and warming the hearts of people. By promoting the spirit of Buddhism, may all sentient beings with karmic ties receive the teachings of the Dharma, free themselves from suffering, and attain happiness, so that everywhere becomes the pure land.
